Paul Dinkel

August 9, 1951 - October 28, 2023

Paul Anthony Dinkel (Mr. Dink) was born August 9, 1951, in Topeka, Kansas. He was the son to Inez Evelyn (Logan) and Alfred John Dinkel. He passed away, peacefully, October 28th, 2023, with family and friends by his side at St. Francis in Topeka.

In 1977, he married the late Betsy Wellman. Together, they raised two children, Anna and John.

Mr. Dink grew up and lived his life in Kansas. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1969. He would become the founder and owner of Santa Fe Annie's and Hall of Fame Sports Bar in Topeka before he made a career move to real estate until retirement.

He was an avid beer connoisseur. He had a love/hate relationship with the Yankees. He enjoyed traveling to destinations where he could watch or play golf. Later in life, he most enjoyed taking walks with his dog, WalkHer, watching movies, clipping coupons and shopping for deals at the grocery stores.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Betsy (Wellman) Dinkel (2014) and by his sister, Judy (Dinkel) Roth (2021). He is survived by his daughter, Anna Johnson; son, John Dinkel; granddaughters, Jacey and Kellyn; brother, Michael Dinkel and his wife, Sally; close friend and companion, Martha Carroll; 11 nieces and nephews; and, last but not least, WalkHer.

His sense of humor, wit and sports knowledge will be sorely missed.

Per his wishes, there will not be a public memorial service or gathering. Cremation is planned.

His family and friends thank the entire St. Francis Cancer Center for their tremendous and compassionate care they provided for him.

In lieu of memorial donations, coupons are accepted.
