Currently live in Topeka near 17th & Oakley. My wife retired several years ago from USD501 as General Director of Special Ed. We both have a number of friends we are close with that are THS grads. I worked for BNSF Railroad as a clerk in the Crew Support Office. I retired June of 2015. Decided to retire early in 2015) The last several years have been kind of hard on me health-wise. In 2010,was diagnosed with cancer at the base of the tongue (same thing Micheal Douglas had) Went through chemo and radiation and have been cancer free since September of 2010. Unfortunately, side effects from the radiation required a bone graft for my lower right jaw. Am still dealing with lingering stuff from that. I had to have a total knee replacement to my right knee in Feb, 2014. Will have to have the left knee done in 2015 (actually done 2017, also discovered I had colon cancer around the sames time but it was removed via surgery. No chemo or radiation needed). But, all in all, am doing good and still kicking. From some of the classmates I've had some contact with, seems we are all running into things we didn't even consider when we were in our indestructible youth! As I've heard it said, "Youth is wasted on the young!"
" I plan on living forever. So far, so good!"
