Zane L. Brown, age 66, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. Zane was born September 1, 1950 in Topeka the son of Lester Brown and Penny Streff Brown. He graduated from Topeka High School. Zane proudly served during Vietnam in the U.S. Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. He worked as a tire builder at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka, retiring in 1991. He married his childhood sweetheart, Dolly Abrams on December 20, 1969 in Topeka. Zane attended the Calvary Lutheran Church. He was an charter member of the VVA Chapter 604 of Topeka and served as past president. He was also a member of Phillip Billard V.F.W. Post #1650 and was a member of the Goodyear Union where he served as a former union representative. In 1993, Zane served as a delegate for the VVA Chapter 604 and was sent to Vietnam on a successful fact finding mission. Zane was preceded in death by a sister, Toni Weishaar in 2000. He is survived by his wife, Dolly of over 47 years; a son, Daniel Dale (Jessica) Brown of Auburn; two daughters, Brandy Brown and Vicki Brown, both of Topeka; two brothers, Tom Brown of Blue Springs, MO and Mark Brown of Auburn and five beloved grandchildren, Kaylee, Kalvin, Kaden, Ryan and Hunter. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. He will lie in state Friday from noon 7:00 pm with a visitation from 5:00 6:30 pm at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Penwell Gable Memorial Park Cemetery.
