I have remained in Topeka since graduating in 1969, competing my BA from Washburn in 1973. I have represented New York Life Insurance Company since graduating. Over the years, I have been involved in a wide a wide range of professional and volunteer activities in Topeka and throughout Kansas. Currently, I am President of the Topeka Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, serve the Committee on Ministries of the Presbytery of Northern Kansas, and Trustee to the Washburn University Foundation. I just completed a good 7 year experience - serving on the organizing committee of the Aaron Douglas Art Fair.
I continue to be pleased in remaining located in Topeka. Much good is happening in this community and our future looks very good! Through serving the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library - Shawnee County Historical Society - First Presbyterian Church - Washburn University - Topeka High School Historical Society - Leadership Kansas -my clients and community, I hope I have helped make a positive difference in Topeka.
In addition, I still enjoy getting up in the morning and getting to work!
I retired 3.5 years ago. Stayed with New York Life my entire career, here in Topeka - 43 years. Still remain active in the community and enjoy getting up in the morning. I still lead worship and deliver sermons about 12 times a year in various Presbyterian congregations throughout northern Kansas. Volunteer at Washburn University seeking about 400 community members to mentor 1st year students. I continue to serve as a Trustee of the Washburn Foundation and even audit 3 hour classes for the past four semesters. My grandsons are both in school, keeping their parents busy. I enjoy the role of Grandfather - watching their many activities, reading books with them, and sitting with them when Mom and Dad and fully tied up. We are preparing for our wonderful class of 69 reunion taking place this fall - be good to catch up with many we have been friends with since pre-K days. Keep watch for the activities over the next two years dealing with the 150th celebration of Topeka High School. Keep watch for the many events which will take place.
