Leslie Warner Palace 1951 - 2025
Leslie Janet Palace passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, in Stuart, Florida, surrounded by her husband and family, following complications from Alzheimer’s. She was 74.
Leslie was a woman of exceptional beauty, kindness, and determined spirit. Born in Topeka, Kansas, she was the eldest daughter of the late Wayne and Korean Warner. She married Thomas “Tom” Palace in 1978, and together they built a life rooted in family, community, faith, and enduring friendships.
After graduating from Topeka High School in 1969, Leslie attended Washburn University. An accomplished equestrian and avid snow skier, she was also deeply committed to her community. She served on the boards of the Boys and Girls Club and the Sertoma Club of Topeka.
Leslie worked for more than 30 years in the classified advertising department of the Topeka Capital-Journal, where she became the Advertising Manager. She later joined Jones Huyett Partners, an advertising agency, where she retired in 2015. In recognition of her dedication to her profession, she was named Sales and Marketing Executive of the Year in 2014.
Leslie enjoyed the outdoors and loved playing golf with her ladies’ group, LEGGS. She was passionate about Kansas sunsets, capturing as many photos as she could, and had a fondness for the Weather Channel. Above all, she loved cheering on her children at their sporting events and was often found with a camera in hand, recording every game.
Leslie is survived by her loving husband of 47 years; their two sons, Adam and Justin (Taylor); and their beloved grandchildren, Warner, Mason, Cohen, Ren, and West. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly (Rick) Young, and numerous relatives and close friends.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30am CST on September 16th, 2025 at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Church in Topeka, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Council on Aging of Martin County, Inc., 900 SE Salerno Road, Stuart, FL 34997. https://www.kevinbrennanfamily.com/obituaries/leslie-palace/#!/Obituary

How very sad. I can't remember a time when I wasn't in school with Leslie. She was so kind and thoughtful of others. She gave me a little white rabbit once, and while my parents weren't pleased....it was a lovely gift for a pre-teen kid like me. As a child of a mother with Alzheimer's....I know how difficult it can be on the patient and the whole family. The Crow family sends its deepest condolences to the loved ones of this wonderful lady. May she rest in peace.

It was so sad to read of Leslie's passing. It breaks my heart that she was taken from her family and friends by Alzheimer's Disease, which extinguished a bright light from our time at Topeka High.

Absolutely heartbreaking. Leslie was sparkley, pretty and above all, kind to everyone. She and her husband got to know my parents long after I had kept track of Leslie. Mom and Dad thought they were both adorable and so much fun. Leslie, you can now rest, and to her family, I cannot imagine what this has all been like for you. My heart goes out to you.

I was stunned and saddened to see Leslie's name in the Class of '69 'In Memory' email, then again on Facebook. I didn't know she had moved to Florida, nor of her Alzheimer's diagnosis. It's people like her getting that terrible disease that shocks me most: bright, energetic, caring to all, and so funny, with a laugh that I hope to never forget...
Les and I had several occasions to see each other in the years after THS, and she was always a joy to be around. I'll contine to think of her sunny smile, that laugh, and the fun we had.
Condolences to Tom, her kids and grandkids, and all who were proud to call Leslie our friend. cga

Such sad news. Leslie was the sweetest, kindest person. So sorry she had to endure that horrible disease, as well as the loss her family suffered. She will be missed by so many.
